Michelle Shelton

DVM (Director of Veterinary Medicine)

Dr Michelle Shelton grew up in North Carolina where she developed a love for animals from an early age.  She decided she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was 7 years old and since then never veered from her dream.  She got a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Genetics from North Carolina State University.  She attended St. George’s University for her first three years of veterinary school and then attended Auburn University for her clinical year.  She has a passion for veterinary medicine and loves figuring out and explaining how things work.  She has experience in mixed practice, emergency and critical care, and in general practice.  Dr. Shelton has a passion for animal wellness and preventative medicine.  In her spare time, she can be found at the park with her daughter, kayaking, hiking, or reading.

Heather Holman

LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician & Clinic Manager)

Heather Holman is a native of Flat Rock Alabama. She began working in the veterinary field when she was 17 years old. She knew early on that animal nursing care played an important role in veterinary medicine. After high school, she attended and graduated from Snead State Community College with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has worked as an LVT for 18 years and has had the opportunity to explore many different aspects of the field. In her spare time, she enjoys working outside on her family farm and taking care of all the farm animals. She recently had a new addition to her family, a little boy, which makes family time all the more special.

Chyna Barksdale

CVA (Cirtified Veterinary Assistant)

Chyna Barksdale was born in our very own Scottsboro, Alabama. She has been working with animals since she was 15. After high school, she attended Ross Medical Education Center of Huntsville, where she graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program. Following graduation, she worked 2 years in rescue and shelter work, traveling up north to save as many animals as she could. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and dog training. She has a beautiful fur baby named Atlas.

Alicia Westly

Client Service Coordinator

Alicia Westly began her working career as a stay at home mom, raising 3 wonderful children. She is a transplant from Hawaii and has called Scottsboro home for 3 years. In this new chapter of her life, she has decided to focus on customer care services. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, and activities like hiking and bird watching. She is also the mom of 2 amazing cats, Hani and Cleo.
